As some of you have heard, The Empire has opened its door as a sister-website to TheVault.bz and TheBox.bz. While TheBox offers more general TV Shows (from the UK) and TheVault offers business specific files, the Empire offers users something more unique: TV torrents ranging from Talk shows, travel, soap operas, DIY and Comedy to shows in the category of Arts & Culture from the commonwealth countries (not including the UK). The Empire has a specific rule, the TV Shows must be at least 66% Commonwealth produced. If you are unsure what a Commonwealth country is, please educate yourself with this Wikipedia article.
As you can see from the screenshot, TheEmpire is not much different from TheVault.bz or TheBox.bz; the same structure and header. But don’t let the look fool you! After years of success with TheBox and TheVault, it looks like TheEmpire has some great leader ship behind it for the early days of a tracker. With that great leadership and following comes the peers. As the looks of things, theEmpire has already gotten a lot of traffic lately, with each torrent being seeded quite nicely.

With only weeks out on the market, we assumed that only a small portioned of torrents would be uploaded. But after looking at each category, we could not find one that was empty, and most were very well uploaded.

TheEmpire.bz are the people flooding btjunkie.org with their locked torrents. They claim to not support that behavior(the rules state they will ban users that upload their torrents to other websites), but their forums for reporting it are constantly 404′d, and reporting this garbage in their IRC channel leads to immediate kicking. All a ploy to get themselves more users. Do not support these people and their shady tactics.
They (The Empire, The Box and I’m guessing the others as well) indeed flood other dl-sites with their locked torrents. When you try to register, you find out there are more rules than torrents, and the rules aren’t fair, but you have to obey, or you’re blocked/banned from the site.
Contacting them is next to impossible.
It’s a shame that they block torrents of good shows this way. Why not just spread them, like the internet was intented to do.
The sites Empire and Box are great, many torrents unable to find elsewhere. as long as yo are happy to share [allow upload] there are no restrictions. thousands of torrents.

I have had an account in good standing at many other private trackers. I have only ever had a problem with empire. The mods are absurdly over the top. I regularly donate money to the sites I like and have a positive ratio at all of them. I downloaded one file (which was very old — only one seeder and obviously after I was done downloading no other leechers so I was instantly in a hole). The standard solution is to download something you don’t want and just seed that — I find that kind of pointless so I waited to find something I actually wanted. Waited too long (to be honest they have very little another prominent UK TV private tracker has which is a WAY friendlier and nicer community of which I have been in good standing for many years) and got banned. Contacted them and the person I spoke to was so unpleasant and holier than thou and eager to treat me like scum so I just gave up. It’s not worth the hassle. They act like they are the holy grail or something and we should be grateful to lick their boots. I just want to be part of a friendly community and empire is NOT that. I guess they think it’s best to keep out people who might not seed but I know many people who have insanely positive ratios at other private trackers who have been so put off by the attitude at empire so they just stay away. So they are doing something wrong if they are putting off good people.
I support some degree of ratio watch but it’s just too funny to watch these “mall security guide” types get so indignant and self-righteous about the “rules” on a site which is actively breaking rules by its very existence (obviously I don’t agree with those rules but I’m just saying there is some pretty impression cognitive dissonance going on in their minds).
I’ll stick with the friendly folks over at the other UK TV site. They have rules but they don’t treat people like crap.
