How to upgrade to RuTorrent 3.4

If you have an older version of rutorrent, you can upgrade via SVN, SSH (wget), or other (such as FTP). If you have previously installed via SVN, you can easily do a checkout using:

First, you will need to login to your SSH:

cd /var/www/rutorrent

svn checkout http://rutorrent.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/rutorrent/

Now, if you haven’t previously installed via SVN, you can install via SSH (wget) or another way (such as FTP). We prefer SSH since it is a lot faster and don’t need to transfer from your PC to the server.

Login to your SSH:

cd /var/www/

wget http://rutorrent.googlecode.com/files/rutorrent-3.4.tar.gz

tar zxvf rutorrent-3.4.tar.gz

chown www-data:www-data -R rutorrent/

These are the best ways to upgrade your rutorrent. Just write files over your previous rutorrent. This way you don’t have to redo your rutorrent config files.
